We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Principal Project Manager to join our Consulting Highways team. This is a hybrid position and with office space in Bristol, we welcome applications from Senior Engineers across Ireland.
The standard hours of work are 40 Hours per week, but we offer a range of flexible working practices, including hybrid, part-time and flexible working patterns. What you will be doing
To act as a project management team leader, providing advice, guidance and supervision as appropriate to project management teams, operational managers, clients and suppliers.
Responsibilities include:
- To act as a project management team leader, providing advice, guidance and supervision as appropriate to project management teams, operational managers, clients and suppliers
- Preparing and leading the preparation and checking of project management related information that enables Amey Consulting commissions to be delivered whilst satisfying the overarching criteria of quality, cost and programme
- Responsibility for the commercial success of the projects within their portfolio, controlling budgets and managing the costs associated with the production of deliverables
- Liaising with client and supplier representatives at peer level and higher, including presenting proposals
- Significantly contributing to the preparation of bids and the general work winning function, taking responsibility for the preparation of technical and commercial offers with accountability to the bid director
- Assuming the role of people manager when required by the business
We want to hear from you if you have
- Bachelors or Masters degree in an appropriate subject
- Full membership of the Association for Project Management
- Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) status with the Association for Project Management
- Applies project management theory and principles to complex or ambiguous situations, where concepts need to be adapted to reach the correct outcome
- Knowledge, understanding and experience of the project management field, with the ability to manage others. Demonstrates a full understanding of the project scope and acts as project management lead for both minor and major projects
- Highly experienced with project management software and tools. Good ability to check work produced by others and able to validate and approve the of new tools
- Demonstrates very good commercial awareness
- Excellent knowledge of suppliers and the services they provide, maintained through regular contact
- Excellent oral communicator, able to present arguments and ideas very well to peers, more senior colleagues and clients. Can deliver internal training workshops to peers and presentations to clients
- Has an excellent understanding of Health, Safety and Welfare, including specific regulations
- Demonstrates a very good ability to manage multidisciplinary interfaces for successful project delivery
- Supervisory and people management skills. Capable of managing or influencing the actions of project management teams regardless of office location, project or account, including the multidisciplinary environment and to undertake the people manager role
- High level experience and expertise in the field of project management, probably gained in a Lead Senior Project Manager role or equivalent
